First Visit Expectations

What to Expect at your First Visit...

Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of our patients. Maybe you've heard about chiropractic care through a friend, have done some research online, and/or have simply grown tired of living in pain and feel that it's time to take action towards relief. In either case, your first visit to our office will be centered on getting to know your chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals. Read on to learn what you can expect at your first visit. :)

Our New Patient Paperwork

  • As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by completing our new patient paperwork. These forms are designed to allow Dr. Scott to gain insight into your health history and current concerns as well as to understand your health and wellness goals. This will allow us to begin building an approach together towards successfully meeting your individual health needs.
  • Our adult and pediatric new patient health history forms are available under the "Contact Us" menu option at the top of this page. Feel free to print it out and complete in advance as this is the longest form you will need to fill out. (You can of course also complete this form in our office if you don't have time to fill it out in advance!) Be as detailed and specific as possible as this will help Dr. Scott gain a better understanding of your condition so that he can best care for your individual needs. Feel free to use the back of the form for additional info if you run out of room. If you complete this ahead of time, you will then only need to complete some short signature forms at your first visit.

Meeting the Doctor and the New Patient Exam

Upon meeting with the doctor, you'll discuss your concerns, expectations, and any questions that you may have. We will perform an initial chiropractic examination to properly assess your body's condition and will discuss the process for getting x-rays (if applicable to your age and condition) so that we'll be able to see in detail the state of your spinal condition. These first visit steps allow us to gain a solid understanding of your body's unique characteristics to best establish a tailored plan for your care.

Getting Results and Creating a Plan for Wellness

Once this is complete, we'll take a look at the overall results of our conversation, your exam, and any x-rays that you have taken. Together, we'll come up with a plan of action which will begin when you are completely satisfied and ready to move forward.
